Contemporary Dining Table by Trueform Concrete

Dining tables come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and styles.  We are seeing a trend in dining tables getting bigger in size and they are becoming a main focal point in the dining room.  Rather than matching a cabinet or dining set together, designers and architects are creating dining room furniture using different fabricators and materials.  Although we do fabricate all types of furniture, our portion of the work usually involves the concrete table top and the wood or steel base  fabrication.  It’s always fun to get a rendering or even a concept and turn that idea into a functional product that will be used for years.

The photo is a contemporary dining table that was custom built for a client and also shown at the Architectural Digest Show 2012 display.  The Zen Dining Table can be found on our Online Store and can be custom colored and sized to fit your room.  This dining table was 120″‘ x 40″‘ x 30″.  The concrete table top was a 3.5″ apron drop to cover the 2″ tubular steel frame that hold the table top.  The leg has a 17″ set back so it allows the head chairs to be pushed under the table.  The tube steel is done in a beautiful Industrial Patina that gives the steel character and has a matte clear protective coating.  Pewter was the selected color for this project and it was cast in our Classic finish.  This monolithic table top featured a custom stripe detail that was cast integral with the project.  Taupe was the chosen color of the stripe that ran through the edges and across the table top.  Fine detailing like this can be added to personalize projects and make them special for our clients.

Concrete allows us the flexibility to make color changes, textures, and make objects appear to be thick while they are actually hollowed out to reduce weight.  Because these dining tables break down into separate parts, we are able to easily crate them and ship them throughout the country and over seas.  Caring for a concrete table is pretty simple and is explain on the care and use sheet that is provided with every product we send out.   Feel free to design a table for us to fabricate or have us create one for you!
